AFTER SEVEN YEARS OVERSEAS CURTEIS FOUNDER AND MANAGING DIRECTOR HENRY CURTEIS IS BACK WITH BIG PLANS TO TRANSFORM THE BUSINESS WITH A NEW LUXURY SILVER COLLECTION AND WEB-BASED RETAIL SYSTEM FOR RETAILERS.
F or Henry Curteis, the managing director and owner of Curteis Limited, coming back to work at the company's factory in late 2011 marked the end a long period away recuperating.
From February 2005 Henry had needed time out from the business and, in that seven year gap, he headed to the Philippines where he set up a home, marrying his wife Shane and having two sons, Charlie, now five-years-old, and one-year-old Sean.

Curteis has manufactured high-quality silver pieces for brands for many years, but noted an increase in customers asking the company to produce more high-end silver items. Curteis has reacted by launching H. Curteis Silver – a completely new range to address this demand. "It’s a new departure for Curteis and very exciting to see it coming together," Henry states. " The pieces in the H. Curteis Silver collection are all handmade, each piece made by one silversmith from beginning to end, giving a completely different feel to the jewellery." The designs have been carefully created to fit current tastes and trends, again in response to the types of design Curteis customers were asking for.During this absence the product range at Curteis grew considerably. "Essentials, the company’s single catalogue, has grown to become big and unwieldy, so we've decided to split things up," explains Henry. "There will be four new catalogues out in the next 12 months, each covering a different sector. First off the blocks is H. Curteis Silver, which we're launching at IJL this month."
"As well as H. Curteis Silver there will be two new Curteis Collections catalogues, one for silver and one for gold, in print by the second quarter of 2014, " Henry adds. "Essentials will remain very much the same as the current catalogue’s first 100 pages, with basic chain and findings."
Of course Curteis.com does not need to wait for print; the site already has tabs in place for the new ranges, meaning retailers can begin browsing the new lines. "We are adding to the site all the time, for example a number of new gold earrings went live this month," says Henry. "Take a look on any device you have to hand. The site speed is much faster, and it works well on mobile phones. We don’t charge delivery for online orders, which also helps."
DATAFEED SERVICE
Curteis also launches its new Datafeed service that enables it to upload up to 20,000 products from Curteis.com directly on to retailer's websites with pictures, current stock availability and price information. "If you are interested in taking Datafeed from us you can call our office and we’ll work out what form you’d like it to take," Henry explains. Companies can showcase products as listed on Curteis.com direct to their customers, using their own logos and site framework.
"We have a team of agents in Scotland, Ireland, England and Wales who look forward to showing you the new H. Curteis Silver pieces and more at IJL stand H141, or alternatively at your store," Henry adds. "We’ll find out from you if we’re getting it right soon enough."
