Receiving my mail: I live in London, how will my services be affected? My deliveries: Royal Mail will maintain deliveries, 6 days a week, Monday to Saturday, to all residential and business customers across London, throughout the Games period (mid July to mid September).

You may receive deliveries earlier or later in the day than usual. This is because changes to transport systems mean it is likely to take longer to collect and deliver mail in some parts of London.Postmen and women will be delivering earlier in the morning to ensure they can complete their rounds given the extra travelling time required. Because of this, some mail which is not ready for the start of deliveries may be held in our system and delivered the next working day.

Re-deliveries: All requests for redeliveries will be carried out as usual.

Collecting mail from Delivery Offices: Royal Mail’s 116 London Delivery Offices will remain open at the usual times during the Games period for you to:

*collect items we've previously tried to deliver

*use your PO Boxes®

*use your Mail Collect service

Please see the notices in your local office or the ‘something for you’ card we left you.

Special Delivery™ Next Day service will contin ue to operate into and out of London during the Games period. Whilst we expect to be able to deliver items in some parts of London by 1pm, transport restrictions and extended travel times mean Royal Mail cannot guarantee to do this for all items in all areas throughout the Games period. So to provide customers using this service with clear guidance, items due for delivery in London, postcode areas E, EC, N, NW, SE, SW, W, WC, from 23 July until 17 September, will be guaranteed for delivery next day rather than specifically for 1pm the next day. This means items posted to these postcode areas from Friday 20 July will not be guaranteed by 1pm except if paying extra for a Saturday guarantee on Friday 20 July only.

Special Delivery™ 9:00am: Due to additional restrictions and the extended times for moving mail around the capital, Royal Mail cannot guarantee delivery of items by 9am in London. This affects items due delivery in the E, EC, W, WC, N, NW, SW and SE London postcode areas from 23 July until 17 September. This means items posted to these postcode areas from Friday 20 July will not be guaranteed by 9am except if paying extra for a Saturday guarantee on Friday 20 July only.

Customers have the option to use the Special Delivery™ Next Day service for guaranteed next day delivery in London.
