Retail Jeweller
The Company of Master Jewellers (CMJ) presented its annual CMJ Supplier of the Year and Retailer of the Year awards at the UK Jewellery Conference in Birmingham.
The CMJ Retailer of the Year award was presented to Helen Dimmick, managing director of Green+Benz, while Bering watches, which also won the UK Jewellery Award for Watch Brand of the Year in July, picked up the trophy for Supplier of the Year. Speaking at the award ceremony in Birmingham, Helen Dimmick said: “I can’t believe it and I’m absolutely thrilled. The support of CMJ suppliers means so much to me. It has been an incredibly turbulent year and I cannot thank CMJ suppliers enough for their support and belief - it means so much and hope they know I won’t let them down at Green + Benz.” Picking up the Trophy for Supplier of the Year was Stephen Todd, area sales manager, Bering, who said: “We are so proud and honoured to be awarded Supplier of the Year by such a highly respected buying group. CMJ members have helped us become the brand we are today in the UK so we would like to thank them all for their on-going support and we hope this will encourage even more members to forge new relationships with Bering.” The Retailer of the Year was voted for by CMJ approved suppliers, while CMJ retailers voted for the Supplier of the Year, based on excellent customer service and training, outstanding product and commitment to the CMJ and its independent retailers. Business leader and the newly appointed government advisor for small businesses, Karren Brady, was the keynote speaker at the CMJ’s second UK Jewellery Business Conference on October 8-9, hosted by BBC television presenter Bill Turnbull.
