The total number of articles hallmarked across the four UK Assay Offices in January 2015 was down 7.6% against the same month the previous year.
9ct gold, where most of the growth has been in recent months, was flat against last year. Sterling Silver articles hallmarked in January were down 14.4%, whilst there was an uplift in the number of platinum and palladium articles – increases of 9.8% and 17.5% respectively.
